• Blake Shelton's latest Hallmark movie, Time for You to Come Home for Christmas, premiered Sunday and is set in Virginia.
  • Turns out the movie was actually filmed way up north in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

If you're anything like us, you've been laughing, crying, and caroling along with every Christmas movie in Hallmark’s 10th annual Countdown to Christmas lineup. The televised spectacle has been underway for a few weeks now, bringing us all the tinsel-covered romance and holiday cheer we could possibly ask for.

But if there's one movie that's got us particularly excited, it's Hallmark Movies and Mysteries's Time for You to Come Home for Christmas, produced by Blake Shelton. The country star's second film with the network premiered on Sunday, December 8, with brand-new songs and a cast led by Lucas Bryant and Alison Sweeney.

Glimpses of the movie reveal gorgeous Christmas decorations, cascading snow, and even a festive train car decked out for the holidays. Naturally, we had to know: Where was Time for You filmed?

According to a Hallmark representative, the lucky region that got to serve as the film's home base was none other than Vancouver, British Columbia (and not somewhere in Virginia, as the plot might have you think). Yes, the film crew shipped all the way up to Western Canada to shoot those stunning snowy scenes, and the long haul appears to have paid off.

Within the Greater Vancouver area, five towns in particular were visited during the filming process: Langley, Squamish, Maple Ridge, Milsean, and Murrayville. So, if you're feeling inspired to take your own trip to this northern escape, you've got a choice. You can head to one of these smaller suburban areas for a quaint Christmas feel, or make a beeline for the bright lights of Downtown Vancouver.

Whatever you choose, though, you're likely to be in good company: The Vancouver metro area is an incredibly popular vacation destination, welcoming over 10 million tourists each year.

It also happens to be situated on Canada's largest seaport and is surrounded by mountains—which is probably why it's such a popular spot for Hallmark movies!
