Today show star Al Roker is taking on a brand new project — and his fans couldn't be more thrilled for him.

This past Wednesday, the beloved weather man announced during the show that he will be penning his own book of essays called You Look So Much Better in Person: True Stories of Absurdity and Success.

According to Al, the new book will reveal lessons he's learned over the past 40 years working in broadcast television. The book, which will be released on June 2, will also cover his childhood in Brooklyn and Queens, what he's learned from past Today legends like Katie Couric and Bryant Gumbel, and his life parenting his three kids with his wife, acclaimed journalist Deborah Roberts.

Apparently, the NBC anchor came up with the title after hearing folks make that comment to him many times over while filming Today.

"At least once a day, [I go] out on (Rockefeller) Plaza, I'm shaking hands and people say, 'You look so much better in person,''' he said on the show. "I think people think that's a compliment."

Naturally, his fans were ecstatic after Al shared the big news. "You brighten my every day! Excited for your new book," one wrote on Twitter. "Can’t wait. I really enjoy watching you and the team," another said. A different fan declared, "Oh I have to get this."

You Look So Much Better in Person will be Al's 13th book overall. Most recently, he penned the non-fiction book Ruthless Tide: The Heroes and Villains of the Johnstown Flood, America's Astonishing Gilded Age Disaster in 2018. Two years before that, he co-authored a book about marriage with Deborah and author Laura Morton called Been There, Done That: Family Wisdom for Modern Times.

Al's big announcement comes just two months after he returned to Broadway for a limited engagement to reprise his role of Joe the diner owner in the musical Waitress. Looks like Al is keeping plenty busy these days!
