Summer may have just ended, but one group of animatronic critters are already making a name for themself as the hot holiday toy of 2017. They're called Fingerlings and based on how they're flying off shelves, we have a feeling they'll be on your kid's wish list come December.

The adorable little robot monkeys first went on the market last month, but have quickly climbed to the top of must-have holiday toy lists from the likes of Walmart, Toys"R"Us and Amazon. They come in six bright colors, each with their own fluffy Mohawk, name (Bella, Boris, Finn, Mia, Sophie and Zoe) and personality. They're also super affordable, selling around $15 each.

If these handheld critters are something you think your child will love, act fast! Certain colors are already sold out at stores and popular retailers online.

Toy industry analyst, Juli Lennett told Time.com that she anticipates that Fingerling sales are only going to continue to rise over the next few months, making it even hard for parents to get their hands on one in time for the holiday season.

"It's brand new this year and it seems to be flying off the shelves," she explained. "I think that [it] could potentially be one of the top toys for the holiday season."

In fact, parents have already started taking to social media to post about their hunt for a Fingerling after coming up short at their local retailers and mommy bloggers have begun keeping tabs on where the buzzy toys are in stock.

The Good Housekeeping Institute speculates that the reason behind their success has to do with the fact that Fingerlings touch on a handful of rising trends in the toy space, while still having a strong play value.

"Not only does the low price tag make Fingerlings collectibles super accessible, but they also have a nurturing and interactive aspect that makes them great for extended play and will keep kids engaged," explains Selina Tedesco, a product analyst at the Good Housekeeping Institute Media and Tech Lab who also handles testing for Good Housekeepings' Annual Toy Awards. "With over 40 animations and sound effects, your child is going to have a different experience every time they play."

Amazon still has a handful of Fingerlings in stock, in addition to pre-orders for Rose, a pink glitter monkey with a bonus blanket, who will be available in late November. Get them now so you don't have another Hatchimal situation on your hands come December.
